We are working with a highly regarded London based law firm who are looking to appoint a Senior Legal Biller to join their Revenue Control team on a 12 month fixed term contract.
This role will suit an experienced legal billing professional who not only enjoys owning complex billing matters, but is also confident mentoring others and supporting the wider team. The firm is keen to consider candidates who are available immediately or on a short notice period.
The role
As a senior member of the Finance team, you will take ownership of complex end to end billing processes while also providing day to day guidance, training and support to junior billers. You will work closely with the Billing Supervisor, acting as a key point of contact within the team and helping to ensure smooth operational delivery.
Key responsibilities
Managing the full billing lifecycle from proforma through to final invoice
Attending monthly WIP meetings and actioning agreed tasks
Reviewing and posting invoices in line with firm policy, HMRC and SRA rules
Producing bespoke and complex invoice narratives, including composite invoices
Processing credit notes, write offs, WIP and disbursement transfers
Managing specific invoicing arrangements and complex billing structures
Maintaining accurate billing data across client and matter files
Handling escalated billing queries professionally and efficiently
Supporting the Billing Supervisor with team oversight and workflow management
Mentoring and training junior team members, providing technical guidance and support
Contributing to process improvements and change initiatives within the revenue function
About you
Extensive experience in a Legal Biller role within a law firm
Strong working knowledge of HMRC and SRA rules
Proven ability to manage complex billing matters confidently and independently
Experience mentoring, training or informally supervising colleagues
Elite 3E experience is essential
E billing experience desirable
Professional, organised and comfortable operating in a fast paced environment
