Are you an experienced Revenue Controller looking for your next role within a prestigious global law firm? A leading US law firm with a significant London presence is seeking a driven and proactive individual to join their busy accounts team. This is a hands-on billing and collections role offering real ownership of WIP and AR within a firm that prides itself on its remarkably cohesive culture and high professional standards.

The Role
Reporting into the London Accounting Manager, the Revenue Controller will take responsibility for the end-to-end billing and collections cycle, ensuring all processes are compliant with firm guidelines and SRA rules at all times. Key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing the monthly billing and collections cycle from start to finish.
  • Taking ownership of ageing targets and lock-up period reduction goals.
  • Managing and monitoring all phases of the inventory cycle.
  • Processing write-offs and time transfers in line with firm policy.
  • Reviewing and verifying the accuracy of billing and supporting documentation.
  • Researching and responding to billing queries and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Creating and distributing monthly billing reports.
  • Working closely with partners and the Accounts Manager to deliver results.
  • Organising and attending monthly partner meetings to review inventory.
  • Inputting vendor invoices into Chrome River.
  • Assisting with special projects and providing cover for accounting staff as required.
The Candidate
  • Demonstrable experience in a billing and collections role within a US law firm.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules and UK/EU VAT.
  • Experience of billing in foreign currencies and an understanding of the complexities involved.
  • Strong project management skills for handling more complex billing requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to liaise effectively with partners and stakeholders at all levels.
  • The ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Analytical thinking and meticulous attention to detail when reconciling billing information.
  • Experience working with task codes and proficiency in budget management.
  • Knowledge of Aderant Expert is advantageous but not essential.
