Are you an experienced Office Cashier looking for your next role within a well-regarded law firm? A highly respected private client and real estate firm is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable individual to join their Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a genuinely varied cashiering position within a supportive team environment, offering broad exposure across all aspects of office accounts and day-to-day finance operations.
The Role
Reporting into the Finance team, the Office Cashier will take responsibility for a wide range of transactional finance duties, ensuring the smooth running of office accounts in line with the Solicitors Accounts Rules. Key responsibilities will include:
- Allocating payments received into office accounts against issued bills.
- Responding to queries from across the firm and providing accurate, timely advice.
- Liaising directly with the firm’s banking providers.
- Entering invoices into the practice management system, covering both disbursements and office-related items.
- Checking all expense claim forms adhere to the firm’s policy and processing the weekly expenses, office and disbursement runs, both UK and international.
- Running ad hoc payments for disbursements and office-related invoices.
- Monitoring and recharging the Land Registry suspense account.
- Uploading ESB files for recharging to clients, covering Expenses, Searchflow, Legl, Land Registry and other items.
- Chasing VAT receipts for paid Counsel fees.
- Providing cover and support for colleagues across the wider cashiering team as required.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-focused Office Cashier who is confident working within a fast-paced legal finance environment. You will bring:
- Demonstrable experience working as an Office Cashier within a law firm.
- A strong and up-to-date working knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
- A high level of technical competence in legal finance operations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage effectively at all levels across the firm.
- Resilience and composure under pressure, with the ability to manage competing priorities during busy periods.
- A flexible, self-motivated and proactive approach, with a strong sense of initiative.
- Experience with the 3E finance system is desirable.
