A newly created opportunity has arisen within a growing international law firm. Although the title aligns with the company’s global structure, this position operates at a Tax Manager level, offering significant scope, visibility, and responsibility for someone ready to step into a senior role.
The Opportunity
Following recent expansion across Europe, the finance function now requires a dedicated specialist to take ownership of international tax compliance, tax reporting, and technical support across multiple jurisdictions.
This role will act as the central point for European tax matters while collaborating closely with counterparts in other regions to ensure consistency and alignment across the global business.
There is a notable gap between senior leadership and the rest of the finance team, and this position has been created to bridge that gap, reduce the technical workload at senior level, and strengthen tax capability across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct tax research to ensure compliance with relevant international tax laws
- Analyse financial data to identify tax implications, risks, and opportunities
- Prepare VAT calculations and related documentation for European entities
- Work cross-functionally to gather tax information from various business areas
- Support tax audits and respond to enquiries from tax authorities
- Maintain strong awareness of evolving tax legislation and regulatory changes
- Prepare tax return materials across multiple international jurisdictions
- Lead on Pillar 2 reporting, a key component of the role
- Provide support on international projects, including the setup of new offices
- Deliver ad hoc tax analysis and management reporting when required
While the organisation is open to developing the right individual, they are seeking someone who brings:
- A professional accounting qualification (ACCA / CIMA / CTA)
- Strong grounding in international tax
- Experience with (or strong understanding of) Pillar 2 — highly desirable
- A thoughtful, measured approach with excellent communication skills
- The confidence to work closely with senior stakeholders
- Experience within professional services, legal, or financial services
Why This Role?
- Opportunity to step into a senior, visible role with genuine impact
- Direct involvement in shaping international tax processes and compliance
- A business that supports development and progression
- 30 days’ annual leave
- A friendly collaborative environment
- Attractive benefits package
- Hybrid working: 4 days in office (Mon–Thurs) + Fridays from home
