This is a hands on role within the finance function, with a strong focus on statutory accounts, year end audit, management reporting, budgeting and technical accounting support.
You will work closely with senior finance colleagues to ensure monthly management accounts are completed and distributed early each month, with clear reporting for Heads of Department and selected central support and fee earning teams.
There is a strong stakeholder element too, with quarterly meetings to review performance against budget and discuss the story behind the numbers.
Year end will be a major part of the role. You will prepare statutory accounts for group companies, build year end files for audit, respond to audit queries, and support the consolidation process.
Alongside this, you will help with balance sheet reconciliations, overseas reporting requirements, technical accounting guidance, and finance systems or process improvement projects where required.
The role also has a wider contribution across the department. You may support budgeting cycles, approve online banking transactions, assist with finance training for non finance staff, and provide ad hoc analysis or guidance where the team needs additional support.
What they’re looking for:
- ACA qualified or equivalent professional qualification
- At least two years’ post qualification experience
- Experience within professional services, ideally a law firm
- Strong statutory accounts, management accounts and year end audit experience
- Strong attention to detail, deadline focus, and confidence working with stakeholders across the business
- Experience using Elite 3E would be helpful, but is not essential.
