A highly regarded international law firm is looking to hire a Financial Accountant to join its London finance function. This role sits at the heart of statutory reporting, tax and VAT compliance, and will suit a qualified accountant who enjoys ownership, variety, and improving how things are done.
You’ll take responsibility for statutory LLP financials, property company accounts, corporate tax returns, statutory audit activity, and VAT reporting/compliance—working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and overseeing the London LLP, Paris LLP, property company and dormant subsidiary accounts, including cash vs accrual accounting, and liaising with professional advisers
- Preparing tax computations for the LLPs and property company
- Managing the preparation and submission of group VAT returns
- Keeping up to date with regulatory, financial, legal and tax changes that could impact the firm
- Ensuring finance policies and best-practice principles are followed across the accounts function
- Reviewing systems and procedures to strengthen effectiveness and risk management, driving improvements (including adoption of AI solutions where relevant)
- Supporting ad hoc projects and reporting as required
- ACCA/ACA qualified, with PQE 4+
- Strong, up-to-date knowledge of financial accounting legislation (including IFRS 15/16) and LLP SORP
- Recent experience preparing financial statements under UK GAAP
- Experience within professional services (law firm experience beneficial)
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail, with a high standard of output
- Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and reconciliation capability
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable working with advisers and internal teams
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines and take ownership in a busy environment
- Awareness of SRA client account rules is advantageous
