Meet the Team

Hi, I'm Kath, Founder & CEO of Balance.

I'm one of the original Aussie backpackers who never went home! I arrived in the UK in my early 20s, fell in love with recruitment back in 2000 and went on to establish Balance Recruitment in 2008.

With over 35 years' experience in finance and more than 25 years in recruitment, I've always been passionate about the people, numbers and strategy behind a successful business.

Having taken the reins as sole director in 2026, I'm now leading Balance through its next exciting chapter, building on our reputation as specialists in placing finance professionals into law firms.

I'm also a passionate advocate for women in business and leadership. Having been

recognised as one of the UK's 100 most impressive female entrepreneurs through the f:Entrepreneur #ialso100 campaign in 2025, I'm actively involved in several women's leadership and business networks, including WIRL (Women in Recruitment Leadership).

I was incredibly proud to win Best Businesswoman in Recruitment in 2022 and have since gone on to become an awards judge, supporting and celebrating other businesswomen and their achievements.

Mentoring is another huge passion of mine, and for the past five years I've supported women in finance and leadership, encouraging them to find their voice, invest in themselves and realise their potential.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my blended family and my Cavachon, Milo. And having never lost the travel bug, I'm always looking for my next adventure, whether that's travelling solo or exploring somewhere new with the whole gang!
