Finance manager - Regulations

A blue chip and dynamic Leisure PLC is looking to hire a Divisional Finance Manager to cover maternity leave. This is an opportunity to join a highly complex and operationally driven business working with a very talented finance team. There is potential for this to progress beyond the initial contract role.

Principle accountabilities:

• Produce the annual regulatory accounts including Regulated Asset Base adjustments and performance commentary on variances to the regulatory settlement.
• Produce Non Regulated Charges (circa £200m pa) trading statements, including variance analysis to the regulatory settlement.
• Provide analysis to Commercial and Operational directors as required, including consultation with the airline community.
• Partner with the Long Term Business Plan finance team and Economics and Regulation, on the regulatory model and support the engagement/consultation processes with the various communities.
• Understand the key business drivers and financial performance of the regulatory model.
• Coach and support business partners to further increase their understanding of the impact of regulation on business decisions.
• Influence business partners over emerging risks and provide appropriate financial advice
• Identify where performance is not on track and take appropriate action to make recommendations to resolve 

• Experience of financial accountability within a regulated sector is desirable
• Confident in challenging senior management from financial perspective
• Influencing skills/coaching of senior management in financial aspects of regulation
• Sound judgement and problem analysis

The successful candidate will be either a chartered accountant by background with 2-4 years post qualified experience or a CIMA/ACCA with relevant experience in industry.
