Description:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced qualified accountant to join the London office of a large US Law Firm in a varied role with international exposure. The successful applicant will take on a lead role in the team, and play a highly visible post within the partnership.

Shortlisted applicants will have previous legal sector experience, and be familiar with UK LLP requirements. The role requires a hands-on individual with strong organisational capabilities who will be able to ensure that financial projects are completed on a timely basis and help to maintain a team orientated, smooth running accounts department.

Duties include:

-Responsible for preparation of the accruals London LLP financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and the year end LLP audit.
-Assist with preparation of accruals financial statements for overseas office locations in accordance with local statutory regulations.
-Preparation of Monthly London & overseas Management Accounts reports, compiled from data provided by HQ finance team & local reports
-Monthly reconciliation of various legal entities' Balance Sheet accounts in compliance with firm policy and statutory requirements.
-Preparation of VAT returns for applicable jurisdictions.
-International liaison on Firm and Partner income tax issues
-Analysis and reconciliation of inter-company trading accounts for applicable entities.
-Prepare Accounts & Annual Return Filings for approx five legal entities.
-Ad-hoc projects and financial analysis including start-ups.


Person specification:

-Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent) accountant with legal sector experience
-Strong analytical skills
-International tax experience desirable
-Understanding of SARs
